Frequently asked questions

What is 911 Derm?
911Derm is a medical-grade bandage that is specifically designed to facilitate the healing process of tattoos. The bandage is waterproof, matte, and breathable, and serves as a second skin to protect your tattoo from external factors while promoting optimal healing. This innovative solution is highly effective in ensuring that your tattoo heals correctly, and is an ideal choice for individuals seeking a reliable and efficient way to care for their tattoo.
Can I use 911Derm more than 24 hours after getting a tattoo?
Applying a first bandage within 48 hours of getting a tattoo is possible. However, it is important to note that if the tattoo has stopped bleeding or weeping, or if there is any scabbing present, it is advisable to apply a very thin layer of aftercare ointment or lotion (such as balm or cream) exclusively to the tattooed area. This will prevent adhesion to the tattooed area. Even if there is no scabbing, it is still recommended to apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment before using the 911 Derm bandage.
My tattoo is releasing fluid from under the bandage. What should I do?
The amount of plasma excreted and the level of "weeping" experienced during the healing process of tattoos varies depending on a range of factors. While some level of discharging is a natural part of the healing process, it is possible for excessive weeping to adversely affect the adhesion of the bandage. In the event of excessive weeping, it is recommended that the tattooed area be cleaned more regularly than normal to minimize the risk of such complications.
How to remove 911 derm?
For optimal 911 derm removal, it is recommended to locate the edge of the bandage and peel it back over itself, following the direction of hair growth. Pulling the 911Derm upwards may cause discomfort, and is therefore not advised. In rare instances, individuals may experience greater adhesive adherence to the 911 derm, resulting in increased difficulty in removal. In such cases, we suggest attempting removal within a warm shower, where the warmth can loosen the adhesive and facilitate easier, more comfortable removal.
Can I experience an allergic reaction to 911 Derm?
It is imperative to differentiate between an allergic reaction and a cross-reaction to 911 Derm for the purpose of this article. Allergies are a result of the body's immune response to a foreign substance. Common allergens include, but are not limited to, pollen, mold, latex, food, drugs, dust mites, pet dander, and adhesives, such as the adhesive used in 911 Derm bandages. Allergies often persist for an extended period of time or throughout one's lifetime. On the contrary, a reaction to 911 Derm may occur due to the interaction of two substances, producing unintended and undesirable effects. When the chemicals or substances are in conflict, the reaction often manifests itself as skin irritation. Reactions can manifest in a variety of ways and may last for several minutes to several days.
